Getting to know….ChamberWes

Although all three scored equally on the “hair” portion of the interview, the Chamber was only able to hire one. We chose ChamberWes.
Name? Wesley Paul Pruitt
What do you do here exactly? Director of Membership Services – recruit new members, retain existing members, schedule ribbon cuttings and grand openings. Chamber liaison for the Conway Young Professionals.
How long have you worked at the Chamber? Since March of 2007, 2.5 years
If you didn’t live here, where would you like to live? Northwest Arkansas would be my other choice in state. Dream place – California Wine Country.
Who are your favorite characters in history? I don’t really have a specific person from history that I am really interested in. I love watching and learning about things from Ancient Greece- their food, inventions, leaders, and military. All pretty interesting to me.
Your most marked characteristic? I don’t know, my large melon head maybe?!
What is your biggest flaw? My ability to get off track from my everyday duties. The chamber always has people coming in and out and some days it’s hard to get work done if people you know happen to be walking by your office.
What natural talent would you most like to possess? Singing… I love karaoke.
Have you ever won a prize in a contest? Yes – I won a ATV when I was 17, I could taken the ATV or $3,500. I took the money… and yes, I spent it…
What do you spend most of your money on? 3 Kids
Is there anything in your past that you’d like to try again? High School – Just the Academics. A scholarship would have really helped with those student loans.
What’s something that can always make you feel better? A long run or a long bike ride – I get to relieve stress, exercise, and have alone time to think.
Favorite month? December- I love everything about the Christmas season, the music, the smell, the food, the cheesy Christmas sweater parties, and seeing the look on the kids faces when they see their stack of presents in the morning.
Have you ever worked in a restaurant? Where? Yes – Stoby’s – Started as a cook, then window, the waiter, then manager.
Who and where was the last concert you went to? Amos Lee at the Village in Little Rock.
When is the last time you went to a party? With 3 kids you have more than your share of birthday parties, but my 10 year High School reunion was at the beginning of October so that was my last grown up party!
When is the next time you’ll hit up a club? Thursday night in Conway with some of my 2009 FCLI Class – it’s our last session before graduation.
If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what? I love lots of weird food but if I were to pick one thing to eat for the rest of my life I would have to go with some good ole Pizza.
What is your least favorite food? Mushrooms and Pumpkin
What’s one place you’ve never been but would like to visit? Greece
What are three things you would like to do you have not yet done? Watch a US President give his acceptance speech live, take kids to Disney World, and Watch the Summer Olympics Live
When was the last time you hand washed the dishes? Baby Bottles every night….
Ever toilet papered someone’s house? Who hasn’t?
If you won $10 million dollars what would you do with it? Pay off debt, go to Greece for as long as Brad will let me take off work, then come back and join all 3 of my kids as individual chamber members to help boost membership totals for the end of the year…
Are you named after a grandparent? No, both my sons are though
What’s something you’re scared of? As I believe most parents think, I am afraid of “screwing up my kids”, for lack of a better phrase. It’s scary to think of how much influence you have over the rest of their lives. I just try and take it day by day and make sure they know that no matter what happens I will always be there for them.
Oh, I hate spiders too.
What was your favorite game as a kid? I wanted to be a Ninja for like 3 years straight so I used to love sneaking around our house, climbing trees and acting like I was a real Ninja. One year a booth sold Ninja Throwing stars (yeah, great for kids) at Toad Suck Daze and I think I made my dad by me like 20! We made a wood target and I practiced every single day that following summer… I still can’t do it right…
